I’d like to introduce you to Steve Shehan who is a U.S. born percussionist who has traveled the world and has been living in France for a number of years now. He has played with a huge range of artists and has a very interesting background – do read his biography on his website (but see instructions below to get to the English version of his website – unless you read French).
Perhaps the best way to get acquainted is to watch him demonstrating a small sampling of his vast collection of instruments. The clips do not have unique URL’s so you’ll need to use the following steps to navigate through his website to get to the video demonstrations:
1) go to http://www.steveshehan.com/index_site.html
2) click on “english version” on the very bottom of the page
3) click on “MEDIA”
4) in the bottom left quadrant of the page, use the yellow-ish scroll bar to scroll the window contents until you see yellow text that says “Videos: Steve Shehan et ses instruments” – click on this
The first demonstration will be titled “Les Instruments de Steve – Orgue de cristal”
The video will automatically advance through all the demonstrations but you can jump around using the menu if you wish.
